We want, that in the further each of our new performances was accompanied with exhibitions.
Pjotr VALIUS (1912-1971)
Oil, distemper, drawings
For opening new theatre we have chosen pictures of the Moscow artist
Pjotr Valius
not only because we especially appreciate them but also because they are close to book of Comenius.
They radiate courage and spirit of resistance, they are awful and fine.
Their influence on us is similar to what as we hope, we often make on our spectators.
In the USSR pictures of the artist could show only at the closed or private exhibitions.
When son Valius has emigrated in 1977, he has brought them on the West.
Only to that circumstance, that works have not found any home until today, we are obliged, that we can expose them now at our theatre.
